How Posigen Has Changed People’s Lives

Posigen is a solar company founded after the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina on the people of New Orleans. During its foundation, more than 16 other similar companies were available to assist in rebuilding. However, these initiatives were only available to rich people as PosiGen CEO Thomas Neyhart noticed. Most families in New Orleans could not afford these upgrades. When Posigen’s founders saw this disparity, they knew they had to do something about it. Therefore, Posigen decided to provide solar to these communities differently from other companies. They based their sales on saving.

They will only install a solar system if it brings savings to their customer. Posigen’s method of operation proved effective, and many people wanted to invest in solar. They knew that this would help them to save. Today the company installs solar systems to thousands of customers per year. Currently, Posigen is led by PosiGen CEO Thomas Neyhart and is working to make solar accessible to all. More so for low to moderate-income families.

Through these initiatives, families can invest in their homes, thus saving on utility bills. Through the provision of affordable solar, Posigen is improving the future of the communities and the economy. The savings on utility bills will help support these communities’ growth (Wfmz).

It will also create a positive impact on the environment. Posigen’s net meter is two-directional. This ensures that customers get credited for the power they produce. Every customer’s solar system connects to a grid. When switching to green energy and when your solar produces more energy, it automatically feeds to the grid. And you get credits in exchange, PosiGen CEO adds. When your energy demand is high, you can use these credits to inform of free electricity from the grid.
